Forty applicants shortlisted by the Nordic Climate Facility

Solar energy. Exploiting the sun to combat climate change.

NEFCO and the Nordic Development Fund (NDF) have now screened and reviewed the 176 applications received for the Nordic Climate Facility’s second call for proposals.

Out of these proposals 40 applicants have been shortlisted and invited to present a final application. The final application shall be submitted to the Nordic Climate Facility no later than 14 April.

The NCF team will evaluate and score the final applications based on NCF’s evaluation criteria and applications will be ranked based on the scoring. Negotiations will be conducted starting from the highest scoring applications until the NCF 2010 funding has been allocated or contracted.

The Nordic Climate Facility, which is funded by the NDF and jointly administered with NEFCO, provides grant financing for climate related projects in low-income countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Financing can be granted to Nordic institutions, organizations, companies, and authorities which have established cooperation with a partner in low-income countries. The second call addresses renewable energy and urban adaptation to climate change.
