The 14th Baltic Sea Science Congress 2023 aims to bring together scientists working on issues related to the Baltic Sea Region to present the state-of-the-art of the scientific understanding of the Baltic Sea and future research needs.
On Monday 21 August, Dennis Hamro-Drotz will participate in the Panel Discussion: “Finance for Baltic Sea biodiversity”, organised by WWF Finland, to explore what role financial actors and businesses can play in helping protect and restore the Baltic Sea, and how science can help enable mobilising finance for biodiversity.
The congress is a part of the Finnish National Implementation Plan for the UN Decade of Ocean Science and part of the Finnish Presidency program (2023–2024) of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS).
The event, held on 21-25 August in Scandic Marina Congress Center in Helsinki, is organised by the Finnish Environment Institute (Syke) and Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI).
