Three Nordic financial institutions
Nefco is one of three Nordic international financial institutions, each with its specific mandate and competences. The other two institutions are the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) and the Nordic Development Fund (NDF). All three institutions cooperate and are located under the same roof in Helsinki, Finland.
The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) offers long-term financing for projects that generate long-term environmental impact and productivity growth in the Nordic and Baltic countries. NIB is governed by constituent documents adopted by its member countries Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
The Nordic Development Fund (NDF) provides financing for climate change mitigation and adaptation activities within the nexus of climate change and development in lower-income countries and countries in fragile situations. NDF is a joint development finance institution of the five Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
